A strong community voice

I am standing with the City Vision team for the Albert-Eden Local Board, Owairaka subdivision

The Albert-Eden Local Board is my ‘neighbourhood”. I have lived in Epsom, Sandringham & Waterview since 1971. Waterview resident for the past 18 years.

I am a nurse and have worked in both hospital and community settings. A Mum of 2 primary school children.

I am people focused. I actively contribute to build stronger communities and have belonged to many community, sports and children’s groups.

  • Chair, Waterview School Board of Trustees
  • Spokesperson for Tunnel or Nothing
  • Treasurer, North Western Community Assn
  • Co-ordinator for Auckland City’s only Walking School and Kindy Bus.

Currently working hard for Owairaka, Mt Albert, Waterview, Pt Chev and the environment, to get the best outcomes around SH20.

  • I spearheaded a successful campaign to stop the installation of Pay and Display parking in Auckland Domain, ensuring free access to it's treasures and space for all Aucklanders.
  • Helped protect the Motu Manawa Marine Reserve from a heliport development.
  • Past Epsom Community Centre Committee Member.

I‘m a hard working team player, with the right mix of personal & work skills to make a strong contribution to our Board and represent our Communities.

A vote for the CITY VISION team will ensure that the voice of the community continues to be heard.

Top 5 Issues

  1. Making our voice heard at a local and regional level. The new "Supercity" must work for our communities. I will continue to promote our communities in the new structure.
  2. Work for better outcomes for the community and environment around SH20. NZ's biggest transport project must deliver better mitigation for our ward. Transport projects within our area must be solutions that balance people, the environment and sustainability.
  3. Promote safer streets and communities. The targeted work of our Local Board will be essential in making this happen.
  4. Support families to build strong communities. Families and neighbours are key to building strong and resilient communities. I will continue to work at a community level.
  5. Useable local parks for everyone. Better, safer and easier access to parks for all members of our communities.

Personal Profile

“As an experienced campaigner, protecting and promoting communities, I will work for good outcomes for the all the people in our area. It's a great place to live - let's make it even better"
