I am a nurse with a working life experience in health care provision such as primary health care, elder care, and services to war pensioners. My career has covered many levels of nursing including management and governance. I stand for an accessible and accountable public health system with a special focus on most vulnerable populations - children, people with disabilities and older people.
Currently a DHB memeber I know well the size of the challenges facing the Board. Innovative thiking and practice, respect for the workforce and sound governance are key future factors.
I have lived in the Porirua basin for 35 years. Volunteer work has supported my nursing beliefs that working collaboratively with communities best meets local health needs. An example of listening to community needs and opinions is the extension of services at Kenepuru hospital.
Voters: I will fulfill your expectations by my Board attendance and meeting participation

Personal Profile
Conflicts of Interest
I am currently a volunteer Trustee for:
Partners Porirua ( an organisation linking child education with industry)
The Whitireia Foundation (the provision of scholarships to Whitireia Polytechnic students)
The Wellington Branch of the NZ Association of Gerontology
While all of the Trusts could be considered as having a broad health focus there is no contractual or financial arrangement between any of the above organisations and the Capital and Coast DHB.
I therefore consider, to the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no conflict of interest with Capital and Coast District Health Board at the date of my notice of consent to be nominated as a candidate for membership of the DHB.
I do not expect that any such conflicts of interest are likely to arise in the future.
