Lydia Sosene is a local resident of Mangere. A New Zealand born Samoan, she is married with two children. She has been a Public Servant for 22 years and spends much of her free time on community activity, including roles with governance aspects such as Board of Trustees as well as roles with an operational focus, such as project manager.
“I will advocate local solutions to issues of our local communities. Local Boards must have a voice in planning, writing policy through to implementation within regional frameworks. They must also be involved in resource management hearings as they understand what is good locally and the uniqueness of their areas."
