Personal Profile

LEE HENDERSON has lived in Kaiapoi and North Canterbury for most of her formative years. Experience in tourism, hospitality, airline, youth centre and manufacturing industries has included administration, marketing, event management, public relations alongside professional business ethics.

Lee will hold a Bachelor of Applied Management and Diploma in Marketing. Local involvement includes schools/sports/community groups, Red Cross and Kaiapoi Promotions Association.

 

Being a parent reinforces societal and economic pressures increasingly faced by families. Lee will ensure the Kaiapoi Community Garden project will aid families in need. Increasing pressure is mounting on the food banks at the Kaiapoi Community Services. Assisting children and families to learn to grow vegetables and feed each other is a lifeskill. Being a multi-cultural society, we must educate and show others what will grow and how to respect our environment with composting.

 

A heritage farming background has raised Lee’s awareness of the importance of combined voices for both rural and small town communities.

 

Also to ensure historical values are blended with future planning, and recognising the impact of a changing global landscape. Sustainable waterways and futuristic tourism balance will be in our hands with positive regional impacts.
