Personal Profile
Let’s face it – Whau needs effective, positive leadership that works and I would be proud to uphold and develop our community’s values. I have become known as a trusted leader, proving these qualities as director of a successful company for over 23 years and as former chairman of the Plumbing Distribution Association (PDA) and NZ Water Backflow Special Interest Group – but I’ve always stayed true to my down-to-earth, kiwi roots. A proud father and grandfather of five, I treasure time with my family and enjoy sharing in all our great land has to offer – I especially get a kick out of camping, fishing and socialising with friends... but enough about me!
I have a keen passion for seeing Whau flourish, pursuing appropriate development while reflecting community interests. I support all efforts to ensure the Portage Trust Development is appropriate and reflects community interests and priorities. Having lived in the area for over 10 years, I have seen firsthand signs of diminishing societal values – I will stand up for the key concerns of our community:
- Maintaining a strong focus on affordability
- Finding a balance of progress and preservation
- Enforcing a safer community environment
- Targeting the congestion on local roads and dangerous increase of car speeds
Upholding the aspirations of the Citizens & Ratepayers group, I work hard to sustain our core beliefs of respecting people and their private property while developing a safe, exciting and diverse Whau community. Citizens & Ratepayers (formally Community First) has 80 years of experience in Auckland local government, and is the party you can rely on to take your vote further.
It all comes down to making Whau a better place for our families.
Vote for Kevin Healy and the C&R team – it’s the right choice!
