Ken (KP) Penney has lived in central Manurewa for decades. He runs a small business as a men's barber in Station Road, Manurewa. He has worked as a barber in Manurewa since the 1970s.
Ken is a life member of the Manurewa Rugby Football Club, an associate member of the Manurewa RSA, and a member of the Manurewa Cosmopolitan Club. He is also a member of the Manurewa Business Association's executive committee.
A reluctant politician, Ken is standing for Action because of its determination to: keep the 'local' in local government; develop a local plan for Manurewa and stick to it; and focus on important local issues such as the revitalisation of the Manurewa Town Centre. He benefits from the wise advice and feedback of his many loyal customers, who have sat in his barber chair over the past 30 years.
