Being part of South Taranaki is important to me.  To have ‘my roots’ firmly entrenched here is certainly something special  -  knowing the local community is important, and serving our local people on council would be a real privilege.  My family has been a part of Hawera and the greater South Taranaki region for over 6 generations, and each generation has volunteered their time in some way to this community, whether in farming circles, local government or currently on a national level with federated farmers. I have also volunteered in our community, and served on the Hawera Community Board.  I am employed as a funeral director, and with my husband Shaun, am involved in our children’s interests.  Strengths I can bring to council are my communication skills, a willingness to work for the betterment of the district and a commitment to listen to our people.
