A Glenfield resident of 32 years, Kay is committed to working for the local community to meet the challenges and opportunities available to the Kaipatiki Local Board under the Auckland Council. Kay's business and leadership experience comes from her experience as an accountant and project manager of community facilities developments. She is experienced at working with and listening to the community groups having previously served on the Boards of Netball North Harbour, North Shore Events Centre, Netball New Zealand, ASB Trusts, Auckland War Memorial Museum and helped fundraise for Windy Ridge School. Kay values developing quality arts, cultural, sports and community facilities, effective transport networks, environmental improvement, clean beaches, safe neighbourhoods, retention of public assets and sensible financial management of rates. "I want to look ahead and plan appropriately; find solutions that are generally fair and make decisions based on long term community benefits rather than short−term expediency" www.shorevoice.org.nz
