It is with supreme confidence in Ashburton's future that I offer myself for your consideration to serve our community on our District Council, (Ashburton Ward). My passion for the Ashburton community has led me to make this decision. The numerous committees, boards, executives and community councils that I have had the privilege to serve on over the past 10 years have contributed to my understanding and appreciation for the democratic process, particularly the principles of transparency, accountability and above all, communication. Communication is the foundation of any successful relationship and what is a community if not a large and complex network of relationships. Council's role as I see it is to facilitate and inform the various sectors that make up our community, tying them together building strong networks, which in turn translate into strong communities.
