Personal Profile
I believe Christchurch is a great place to live and I believe in "Unity in diversity".
However, over the years we seem to be loosing a lot of what makes Cristchurch great.
Rates have been rising & our beautiful city is not as safe as we would like it to be.
We see increasing number of organisations moving out & taking jobs away & not enough new strategic investment.
World wide, this is not a new phenomena & cities & regions have branded themselves as attractive destination for businesses and people, bringing jobs & prosperity with them. I believe we can certainly do much more than we are presently doing to make this happen. But first we must make our city safe.
Education and tourism are top employment providers.Effective branding of Christchurch means effective communication with residents of tourists expection based on our marketing overseas . I am actively involved in marketing of both education & tourism . In the tourism area, Christchurch is regarded as a 'gateway' to the South island, yet many tourists spend the minimum number of nights they can in Christchurch.
I look forward to contribute to more effective & efficient management of such areas.
