Continuity and experience will be an important feature for the people of the new Franklin Ward. As a Franklin District Councillor representing the Northern Ward for the past 4.5 years John has learnt a great deal about the district and its needs. In particular how to ensure rating is considered on an equitable basis for all. He has been part of a team that has worked to provide a growth plan that protects the rural character of the area, yet makes provision for appropriate residential and business growth for the future. John has represented Franklin at the Regional Land transport meetings which has given him an overview of regional planning for Greater Auckland.
