I've lived on the Hibiscus Coast for over 30 years, and been President of the Orewa Ratepayers & Residents Association for a long period giving me greater insight to the workings of council and how it can better serve the community. My object for standing for the Community Board is to be a strong and honest voice for the people, being aware of the needs of the elderly and remembering the young families, struggling to buy their first home or existing on one income, To cater for the teenagers, recreationally and work−wise to generate a future progressive community. To foster goodwill between the local residents and council for the betterment of all, and to be the residents advocate in dealing with local matters. I've always been regarded as a straight talker and problem solver and wish to continue serving the people of the Coast without any political or other encumbrances.
