I have lived in Port Waikato for the past 15 years, latterly I have been a member of the Port Waikato Residents and Ratepayers Association and at present I am the chairman. It is important that Port Waikato has a representative on the enlarged Onewhero− Tuakau Community Board as the Board will represent the people who are now in the Waikato District. It will be important for all of us now coming under the Waikato District Council's administration to make sure that we have a voice that will be heard on all matters that impact on our governance, and to do all we can to assist the new Council understand the needs of our community. If elected I will do my best to represent the interests of the wider community as well as Port Waikato, and act as a conduit to make known the wishes of the people to the Council.
