Unfinished business is why I'm restanding. Health is in a precarious position, a capped budget, all manner of competing demands and the Ministerial expectations.

One size does not fit all and with the Governments move to regionalise many health services, I offer strong and forthright advocacy for our rural and urban communities.

It's not rocket science −but early intervention, affordable, and equitable access is paramount if Canterbury's diverse communities' needs, are to be addressed. Gains made in the last term must continue but improvements in communication, regard for pressure on our staff , the imbalance in the NGO sector, asset planning and more strategic investment in primary health, critical if we are to provide a health system we should all be able to rely on. I will continue to ask the hard questions, continue to challenge, and continue to push for the very best results− for you.

Conflicts of Interest

To the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no conflicts of interest with the Canterbury District Health Board at the time of my notice of consent to be nominated as a candidate for membership of the board of the DHB, and I do not believe that any such conflicts of interest are likely to arise in future.
