I am pleased, and just a little humble, to offer myself for a third term on the Ashburton District Council, Ashburton Ward. The earlier part of my life was mainly in retail, while by far the biggest part of my working life was in the Hotel/Liguor industry where I was employed by the Ashburton Trust for twenty five years, in mostly senior positions. During those years I gained some experience in the workings of local bodies, as the two organisations the Ashburton Trust and the Ashburton District Council, are not too dissimilar. I have been active in the local Grey Power Association for many years having served as a committee person, President and Vice President. For relaxation I enjoy being a member of the Asbhurton Savage Club. Should I have the honour to be re-elected, I will do my utmost to work in the interests of all ratepayers.
