Jill was born and bred in Waiuku as were the three generations before her. In 2004 she was elected to the Waiuku Awhitu Community Board, and during that term was appointed to develop and Chair the Waiuku River Coastal Compartment Management Plan working party. The removal of mangroves in the Tamakae Estuary has been an ongoing issue for Waiuku for many years. The CCMP was achieved within 18 months, resulting in the first resource consent for the removal of mangroves in the Tamakae Estuary. Jill has a long personal involvement in the Thoroughbred industry, along with viticulture and breeding pedigree beef. She has a Diploma in Photographic Arts (Whitecliffe Art School) and is supported by her partner Colin and their daughter Maria. Please vote for Des Morrison and all the Citizens and Ratepayers Team Franklin candidates.
