Raising our family over the last 25 years in Westland has convinced me of the very special nature of the Coast and the unique lifestyle we all share here.  By nature I am a practical person with the ability to think laterally.  I have built up years of experience working with children and education, alongside many voluntary hours spent as a school Board of Trustees member over 10 years, and on various community committees around the region.

I have a clear knowledge of how governance and management work well together.  I believe Council is the key player in shaping the future direction of Westland and I offer a common sense approach to the Council's decision making process.  I am keen to see young people valued in our community, and in turn relishing the opportunities afforded to them by living on the Coast.  As well, I appreciate our diverse community and all they offer that enriches our lives.  For me, bringing the community together to work for common goals is vital for positive change.  I offer my capacity and experience to build strong relationships and maintain them through challenging times - an asset to a Council that must work for economic prosperity and growth in a small but precious region.

I am committed to having an open mind, ready to listen to and analyse different view points when decision making.
