“I will bring integrity, accountability, transparency and many years of successful experience in business and local government.
We must have a change in the culture of the Council, with much more concern for what the Ratepayers can afford.
Elect me, and I will work for a council that will understand that genuine consultation means hearing, listening, and acting on community concerns.
I will fight to have the Waterfront developed as public open space - not as sites for private offices and apartments.
I will work with the Regional Council to ensure a more efficient public transport system, with Light Rail as an objective.
I will fight to retain water services as a public asset under Council control; remove the threat to close or diminish public libraries; establish parking policies that encourage and facilitate CBD shopping.
I will never forget I am employed by the Ratepayers of Wellington”.
