I am putting my name forward to again serve the New Plymouth District. I believe I can make a positive contribution to our community. My past experience on New Plymouth District Council means I am familiar and confident with local authority policies and processes.

I believe New Plymouth is the best city in New Zealand and with responsible financial management, this should continue. Waitara's sewage treatment is a significant issue that must be addressed. From a health, social and cultural perspective, we cannot continue to discharge waste into our environment. Land based sewage treatment for Waitara's effluent is, therefore, a matter of urgency.

I understand the pressure on sports clubs and regional sports organisations in this difficult economic climate. Sport and recreation are part of the fabric of our community and have huge health benefits. For this reason I strongly support the Cycle and Walkway development currently planned for New Plymouth.
