Working and living in the community for almost 30 years, I believe Upper Hutt needs new energy and fresh ideas, someone who engages with all her citizens, and someone who works to inspire people to achieve their dreams. Visionary leadership can dramatically turn around a city. It’s leadership at the top that sets the vision and builds a team. As Mayor my focus would have three key areas: community knowledge, political experience and policy leadership; qualities essential in working with Council as your elected representative. As a business owner and promoting the city with Experience Upper Hutt, I appreciate the importance of working with and for the people, strategic planning and good communication, promoting an environment for business growth, and fostering a safe and secure community that is healthy and sustainable for our future.
