I have lived in Island Bay for most of my life, I am passionate about Wellington and the Southern suburbs. Having been a fire fighter for 32 years I love working for and with the community. We need to ensure the best use of the rate dollar. Make sure the basics are done well, including maintenance of the core infrastructure such as water, sewage, roads and footpaths. Better curb side recycling. Cleaner streets in the suburbs and the entire city centre. Safety in the community is a priority. Continued support of our libraries, pools, sportsgrounds and galleries is important, with more artificial turf where possible. Promotion of the city, the arts festival and events to help keep Wellington vibrant. I am against water meters and any privatisation of water. I will listen to youth, aged, resident associations, business, cultural, school and church groups to gain an insight into what issues are important to them. I will be available through e-mail, meetings and telephone to put you back in your community. We live in the best city in the world. Let’s make it even better.
