Married with four children, I have lived in the East Otago community for most of my 46 years.

Having completed three terms on the Community Board, there is still room for improvement in the way we as a board serve our community.

The Board must utilise effective, informative and proactive consultation while being mindful of the need to provide sound economic and environmental direction and decisions.

Our communities must continue to prepare for a changing future.

We need to ensure the City provide fiscally prudent long term strategies for the maintenance and upgrading of our core infrastructure. Strategies that give special consideration to our fragile changing environment.

It is imperative that the services we provide allow for managed and sustainable growth within our communities, giving careful consideration to residential, rural, and commercial needs.

I want to ensure we provide viable, affordable, and sustainable services for our present and future communities.

Waikouaiti - Coast Community Board

I have enjoyed serving our community through the Waikouaiti - Coast Community Board for the last nine years.

Our community is one of the most unique in the City of Dunedin, with a large rural area, five distinct and diverse townships in, Waitati, Warrington, Seacliffe, Karitane and Waikouaiti. All of which have differing needs all competing on a much larger City stage.

It is for this reason that you must vote for Board members that understand the need to;

  • listen
  • work as a team
  • work with Council to achieve positive outcomes
  • work for the Community
  • work towards a sustainable future
  • encourage growth in a planned and managed way
  • make positive decisions

I believe that I have proven my understanding of, and my ability to deliver on these needs.

The Community Board is no place for personal agendas it is a place for community agendas.

I am asking you for the opportunity to continue to serve, to provide for, and to ensure the long term viability of our community.

It is our community.

It is your choice.
