George is a director of BDO Marketing and Business Solutions, he's a Trustee on Ngati Awa Social and Health Services and Te Reo Irirangi o Te Manuka Tutahi.  He has held many contracts with local and central Government and non government organisations.  George sits on the Treaty of Waitangi Committee within Manukau City Council and also provides advisory services to North Shore City Council.  George was formally responsible for Te Wananga o Aotearoa Auckland and Northland campus and is now the Chief Executive Officer for Te Runanga a Iwi o Te Oranga Ake a National Urban Maori Authority based in Auckland.  George’s expertise is in the field of organisational management and fiscal accountability's.  He is married to Raewyn and they have five children and two grandchildren.  George is pleased to be standing for the Manurewa Local Board with the C&R Team

WIRI LICENSING TRUST

There are far too many alcohol and gambling facilities in Manurewa, and more and more people now think so.   Alcohol is also a major contributor to violence in the home and gambling is another.  If this is one of the key destroyers, then when elected, I will ensure that more investment be put into fixing this problem.  Hi I'm George Ngatai and I ‘m pleased to stand for the Wiri Licensing Trust.  Some of us have either seen or have been involved in the march and there is increasing support for how we manage this increasing issue.  As a resident I see the damage that alcohol and gambling does to our families and I want to help reduce it.  I WANT TO ALSO ASK WHY in the last two years the Wiri Licensing Trust made a $800,000 and $1,000,000 LOSS over this period.  ENOUGH is ENOUGH

As a team, we are determined to make our region even more successful. We will strengthen our communities, provide positive, effective leadership and keep council rates affordable. We will demand transport policies that make it easier to get around, protect our unique environment, and create partnerships which build our community assets.
