Geoff Kenny, I'm 54 years old and have been a sitting councillor for 6 years. I think this council has performed well − I was a prime mover of the new and I believe fairer rates system, we now have an international airport, we had the lowest rates increase in the country, and theatre and museum upgrades are progressing well. Our sitting councillors have put a considerable effort into a complete overhaul of our district plan which I believe will make it easier for businesses and quality developers. This is a year away from being finished and I hope that the hard work the current team has done is rewarded by seeing little if any change on election day.
