I'm Gary Troup, Deputy Mayor of Manukau City. I'm married and have lived in Papatoetoe for 45−years. I am Passionate about working for my community. I have the Experience and Knowledge of community needs, gained from 12−years on the Papatoetoe Board (six as chairman) and three years as a Councillor, where I sit on seven committees. I am Committed to our young people, as a Trustee of John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams Foundation and Trustee of Camp Quality New Zealand, which provides support for young children with cancer. I am a Keen Supporter of local businesses and the contribution they make to our economy, and I'm involved in many groups across the community. As a former Black Cap cricket international, I also retain a keen interest in sport. I have the experience to enable me to Contribute Significantly to Achieving positive outcomes for our communities.
