To ensure that Auckland is a world class city, the need for coordination in property development projects is of paramount importance. Dr. Francis Lai spends his working life as a professional property consultant. He has been involved in low cost housing in Singapore, in government land exchanges in Hong Kong, in settling new migrants into Auckland and in property developments in Bangkok in the 1990's. Latterly Dr. Lai is advising many new migrants on the sale and purchase of businesses. If elected, Dr. Lai aims at ensuring that the long term economic benefits of the city should not be compromised by any need to push for commercial gains, especially at the expense of justice and fairness to the very citizens who elect council members to office. The true intents of the Public Works Act 1981 will be vigorously defended.
