I was born in Taumarunui, finished my schooling at the local High School, trained and worked as a nurse at Taumarunui Hospital.

My husband Neville and I have four children and first lived and worked on the family farm at Hikumutu. Ten years ago we sold and bought a larger farm in Upper Retaruke Kaitieke which enabled our eldest son to return to farming.

I've been involved in the community most of my adult life cutting my committee teeth at Plunket Mothers and continuing to hold office in most of my organisations through to Toastmasters then voted in as Chairman of the Taumarunui High School BOT.

One of my proudest achievements was leading a team to fund raise and build the heated indoor swimming pool at the High School then receiving a Queen's 1990 NZ Commemoration medal.

I'm sincerely interested and do care about our rural community way of life.
