I farm at Okuku, married to Diana and have a son called Angus. I have had a long association with a number of farming and community groups. At present I am a member of the Loburn School Board of Trustees, and Chairperson of the Woodend−Ashley Advisory Board. 

It is the transition of this Board from an advisory board to a full community board in its own right that brings a new range of issues and challenges of which I am keen to be part. 

There are many issues that face our ward, including the long term future of the Ashley Bridge, the standard or lack of footpaths within our smaller towns, traffic speeds past our schools and the impact of rating and where the cost falls. 

I believe I can offer an objective and balanced approach to the role of Community Board member.
