My husband, David, and I operate the Regent Cinema. In our little corner of Ashburton we have experienced first hand, Ashburton District Council (ADC) lack of forethought and planning, miscommunication and endured the consequences of ADC bylaw exemptions. In our business it is necessary to listen to customers, observe national and global trends - comply with legislation - provide a safe and fair work place - maximise teamwork - co-operate with many groups, distributors and promoters to assist in achieving all of their goals and provide the best service we can at an affordable rate. There are two policies I require of our staff BE RESPONSIBLE along with OPEN AND HONEST COMMUNICATION. My intention is to use these skills to focus on ratepayer service and encourage meaningful communication between the ratepayers and Council, whilst being fiscally responsible. LISTENING TO THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE OF MID-CANTERBURY WILL BE MY PRIORITY.
