Community Board:

I have served on the Community Board for six years the last three as Deputy Chair during which time I have represented the Board on Council’s Economic & Development Committee and I have a 40 year association with the district I am currently in my tenth term as President and Welfare Officer of the Otaki RSA; a Kapiti Grey Power Committee member, and serve on various other community and sporting organisations giving me firsthand knowledge of the Community’s needs. I also maintain a good correlation with the iwi of Raukawa through a 20 year administrative role within Ngati Kapumanawawhiti hapu. I understand the district’s need for economic growth; which will ensure young families are retained in the district. During my time the Board has achieved much particularly with the Greater Otaki Project, there has been exceptional development which I am keen to help continue.

Council:

 

A second term Otaki Community Board member and representative on Council’s Economic & Development Committee I have a 40 year association with the district and have a positive understanding of the needs of its people. My working career spanned the Public Service, and Hospitality industry. I am currently in my tenth term as President and Welfare Officer of the Otaki RSA also serving Waikanae; a Kapiti Grey Power Committee member, I serve on various sporting and community organisations giving me knowledge and practical experience of needs of both aged and youth. I also maintain a good correlation with the iwi of Raukawa through a 20 year administrative role within Ngati Kapumanawawhiti hapu. I understand and appreciate the district’s need for strong economic growth; ensuring young families are retained in the district. I’m committed to policies that will keep rates affordable, provide and maintain good public facilities, and respect the environment.
