New to Wanganui and father to two lovely teenage boys who constantly remind me I'm not getting any younger while my aging parents are a reminder of the brutal honesty of the young! During 2008-09 I undertook voluntary work in Vanuatu with a community based theatre company with associated health clinics and youth centers. My professional background is lecturing at tertiary level whilst owning and directing a logistics company. I am involved in numerous community based projects where the key to success is collaboration.
The future success of the WDHB depends on maintaining and growing strategic links with the community it serves and beyond, through collaboration with our neighbouring DHBs and service providers. Pivotal to the success of any collaborative process is a strong sense of identity – that means maintaining the services we have, at a practical and cost effective level, on terms acceptable to the Whanganui DHB's community.

Conflicts of Interest
To best of my knowledge and belief I have no conflicts of interest with the Whanganui District Health Board (DHB) at the date of my notice of consent to be nominated as a candidate for membership of the Board of the DHB, and I do not believe that any such conflicts are likely to arise in the future.
