For the last three years it's been my privilege to represent our Waiheke community as the Hauraki Gulf Islands councillor.  In the transition to the supercity I led the fight that made sure Waiheke now has a local board.

The first Waiheke Local Board will have to work together, be forward-thinking and engage the community.  I'm standing because I can do that.

Local decisions should be made locally and I want to ensure our rates are not squandered and the services and infrastructure we receive are appropriate for our island and meets our needs.

I've been a Waihekean for 13 years and have two shcool-aged children.  I have extensive governance experience and qualifications in journalism, industrial relations and management.  I've worked as an advocate, educator and community organiser.  I have the proven ability to listen, gather the community and get stuck in around local issues.
