In standing for election I offer you my commitment, energy and experience to assist in traversing the road through the next 3 years as our community comes to terms with the amalgamation into Auckland City. These initial years are going to be crucial. The last 6 years have seen a lot of progress in the areas of infrastructure, town centre development, open spaces and social initiatives. We must now look forward to the development of West Franklin as a Heritage and Tourism destination which should bring economic benefits. In doing this we must not lose sight of the social issues that continue to be present in our society and if not addressed can begin to erode the heart of communities. These issues include youth, the elderly, alcohol abuse, family violence, lack of employment and housing. I think that my community service record gives assurance of my commitment to West Franklin.
