Dale Bickerstaff, 69, is a Justice of the Peace, having held this office since 1985. A resident of the Eastern Suburbs since 1983. An experienced businessman with some 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, Dale has held a variety of management positions from 1975 and commenced ownership of his own private liquor wholesale shops and taverns in 1988. This experience has allowed Dale to gain an understanding of the wide gambit of elements needed in public relations and community affairs. Liquor licensing and the minimisation of and abuse of both liquor and drugs is a topic very close to Dale's heart. Dale is passionate about the urgency and need for Auckland to have a more efficient transport system specifically the ability to expand the Ferry service from Half Moon Bay to the city. It is currently constrained by a basic lack of parking.
