Chris brings to you an experience that has overseen transformation and development that has maintained and built identity in our community – what makes our area to live in special. In her time as mayor, Chris’ stewardship of the Britomart development; “First city of the Pacific” policy and her ongoing involvement in culture and heritage projects such as the Motutapu restoration project Chris achieved this preservation of local identity through unity, whilst never losing sight of the need for decisive action. Chris has built the skills and relationships needed that can enrich the quality of representation she can offer you for our community. The new Auckland council brings with it many challenges. We need community leaders that are inclusive as well as decisive in meeting the challenges that our changing region faces.

If we are to meet these challenges we need leaders driven not by agendas and vested interests, but by leaders who have vision of a region that grows, that is respectful of the need to include people of all cultures and views in this process. If we are to have a fair and affordable rates system, world-leading public transport; and a genuine preservation of our local spirit, we can only realise this vision by standing together.
