I am currently elected to the Avondale Community Board and am committed to improving facilities in the Whau area.

I successfully petitioned to save the Auckland City mobile library service. I am an experienced and effective board member.

We face challenges from water and rubbish collection charges, major roading projects, concerns about safety and retaining our green space.  We will resolve those challenges for the benefit of our communities.

I want inclusive communities, safer streets, fairer rates, access to libraries, encouragement for our youth and assistance for older citizens. I support environmental groups which look after our parks and rivers.

Living in a culturally diverse community is a privilege. I have lived here for over forty years and my extended family also live here. I enjoy working as an administrator.  Please vote for all of us on the Future Whau team to represent you and our communities.

Top 5 Issues

  1. Fair and affordable rating system. I am opposed to flat taxes like the Uniform Annual General charge which proportionately shifts the rating burden onto lower value property owners.
  2. Water is a basic human right and should be provided at minimum cost. I am opposed to user pays commercial charging models for water and wastewater.
  3. Better bus and train services, cycleways and safer walking routes must be provided. Cutbacks in funding for traffic lights at the Blockhouse Bay Rd/Tiverton Rd intersection make it almost impossible to cross as a pedestrian at peak times.
  4. Local boards and council must be accountable to our communities. Community consultation is essential to build strong and inclusive communities.
  5. Funding for our libraries, parks, community centres and environmental groups is essential. In particular libraries are focal points in our communities.
