Aged 58 Brian was born and educated in Otahuhu. Married with two children and four grand−children, he was an avionics engineer at Air New Zealand, leaving in 1974 to join the Police. Stationed at Otahuhu he worked in the Otahuhu/Mangere areas and was a member of the Police Search and Rescue for 10 years. He was Officer in Charge, Police Air Support Unit on retirement in 2005. Having lived in Otahuhu for 18 years, Mangere Central for 5 years and Mangere Bridge for 35 years Brian knows the community and its people and cultures. He is the Commodore Manukau Yacht Club, Chairman Mangere Bridge Community Trust, Secretary Manager Bridge Residents and Ratepayers Association, Trustee Manukau Districts Crime Watch Patrols, Trustee Mangere Community Development and Cultural Trust. The Mangere Otahuhu area is unique in its diversity and I am committed to the advancement, aspirations and welfare of its people.
