My name is Brian McGillivray and I am the owner operator of Rotorua Gift and Jewellery Centre for 45 years.

I have always been interested in community affairs and served 12 years as a District Councillor up until 1989.

I am a past president and senator of Rotorua Jaycees, and a past president and Paul Harris fellow of Rotorua West Rotary Club.

In addition I have been a past chairman of "Keep Rotorua Beautiful", and also the Rotorua Retailers Business Association.

I have been given an Outstanding Citizen Award.

My concern for standing for Council is to promote Rotorua in a positive image.

At the moment the population is stagnating, and it desperately needs to be promoted as New Zealand's most beautiful city, surrounded by lakes and the redwoods etc.

A place in which to live in, and invest in, and attract tourists both locally and from overseas.
