My career has been Farming/Forestry/Land Development, with extensive experience in Local Body compliance issues. I am standing because I believe that the Council has lost touch with its electorate and the Council Management has become imbued with a culture of extravagance and empire building. If elected I will advocate the following: Re-open John Wilson Drive; Leave Lovelock Avenue as it is; Extend the planned cycle ways, including the Caversham Tunnel and when completed sponsor a road race event perhaps in conjunction with the Central Rail Trail. I support Councillor Dave Cull's call for more open Government and would work for a closer relationship with the ORC. I believe that it is not enough for a candidate to rubber stamp the Bureaucracy's recommendations. This is why the DCC has an expensive bottle mountain and the Otago Health Board was swindled of $17 million. Please give me your vote.
