After a lifetime of being self-employed, I find myself a mature milk harvester and cheese maker at 68. I was the first woman elected to the Board of Tower Insurance (formerly Government Life), a position held for 3 terms. This gave me considerable insight into the corporate and business world and has enabled me to be an effective Eketahuna Community Board Member and an enthusiastic advocate for Tararua. I am an approachable common-sense person with the experience, enthusiasm, imagination and vision to represent everyone sensibly.

 

Colin and I moved here 15 years ago. In 2004 we opened one of the largest interactive model railway displays in New Zealand which, together with sales of Cwmglyn Farmhouse Cheese, has been gathering an enthusiastic public following ever since. I am involved in various community activities and committees in the district. Other interests include reading, conversation, classical music and avoiding housework.
