Personal Profile

My professional background is in horticulture and landscaping.

I was employed by the Taupo Borough/Taupo District Council for 31years

as Manager of Parks and Reserves.  There were many highlights during my Career

of which I can be proud.Development of Spa Park, Owen Delany Park, Rose Garden, Crown Park,

Landscaping and beautification of the town and much more.  On my retirement I was

overwhelmed when ' Hickling Park' was named in recognition of my achievements.

I continue to be passionate about Taupo and it's the reason I have served the past two terms as a Councillor.

During the past months I have been frustrated at the process regarding the Town Centre  Commercial Industrial Structure Plan

and have continued to lobby for the removal from the plan, of the three story  Administration building, in order that the rest of the plan

could move ahead. I have read each and every one of the 440 written submissions and the 6000 signature submission.

It was very clear that the majority of the submitters were against the building of a Council Adminitration Office on the North Domain.
