I am standing for Mayor because I believe I have the passion, ability, skills and experience to serve Kaikoura fairly and well, having been on Council for twelve years and Deputy Mayor for six. 

Chairs include: Environmental Services, District Plan, Pensioner Housing and Arts Council. Four new pensioner houses and a new wharf are significant achievements. 

I am mother of three adults, farmer, outdoor enthusiast, teacher and adult tutor. For fun I do music, reading, gardening and flying. 

Vital issues are: prudent accountable governance, maintaining Kaikoura's uniqueness, fast tracking the new hospital, library and museum complex; progressing an industrial zone; cycle track and walkway extensions. 

Youth participation, community consultation, environmental stewardship and the Arts are also priorities. 

My past experiences will create a solid foundation for wise decision making and it would be my pleasure to serve you as Mayor.
