Married, 3 adult children. Farmed in Ardmore and Hunua, 45 years. Owned Rural Post contract, Hunua and Paparimu past 14 years. Retired 9 years ago, Papakura Council after 12 years service. Auckland's local Government has been strangled by the ARC. Evident in large number of court cases involving Councils. Resulting in very little progress on any major Auckland projects, including public transport, roads and motorways. I made submissions for changes to Auckland, many ideas now included in the new super city structure. We need some rural property rights returned to the landowner. I am for less bureaucracy to enable future generations to afford to live in Auckland. Control rates and concentrate on core council responsibilities. Important to make Central Government be responsible for community social issues. It's time for a strong new voice to make the Local Board work for the people in the super city structure.
