Greetings friends and community of Maungakiekie − Tamaki Ward. As a long time resident I am standing to be your councilor and I respectfully ask for your vote and support.

I have extensive experience in governance roles from school Board of Trustees (17 years) to Regional Committees with the Auckland DHB, Auckland City Council and select committee work/advisory groups at the Parliamentary government level.

I am also the recipient of a Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader award for my community involvement in our area.

 I am committed to Progress and Prosperity of a world class city through: Strong Leadership with integrity; Community led approaches on local issues; Effective Transport Solutions and protecting and enhancing the environment; Facilitating an affordable region to live and work in.

Our local community will need a stong voice and experienced leadership that can understand the different perspective views yet have the courage to make decisions to ensure Tamaki-Maungakiekie are not forgotten in the wider Auckland region.

A vote for Alfred Ngaro to be your Councillor will ensure that Maungakiekie-Tamaki is heard and influential at the Council table and not 'drowned out' by the other council and local board areas.

2. Effective Transport Solution - like we have seen with new rail lines and stations, AMETI (Auckland Manakau Eastern Transport Initiative), encouraging walking school buses, and working together to further ease congestion.
3. Beautifying our Area by enhancing public spaces e.g the Onehunga foreshore, reducing the impact of graffiti, and encouraging the re-planting of a tree on our iconic one Tree Hill.
4. Ensuring that Maungakiekie-Tamaki is heard and influential at the Council table and no t 'drowned out' by the other council and local board areas.
