Hi, my name is Alf Filipaina and I am aged 51 years and have an 18 year−old son. I have lived in Mangere for most of this time. I am part Maori and Samoan, and was born in Kawakawa, Northland. I have 5 brothers, with Olsen the only one living overseas. I am a Senior Constable on the Police and have worked in this area for 33 years, the past 10 years as the Pacific Liaison Officer. I am currently a Trustee on the Mangere Community Law Centre and the Mangere Community Health Trust. I have been a Councillor for the past 7 years and Chair the Te Tiriti O Waitangi Committee. I oppose 'User−pay' for libraries, swimming pools, and the selling of the Airport shares. Making the new Council accountable is what I will be doing. I am passionate about our community and I will be your voice.
