The diverse Bay of Plenty region includes coastlines, mountains, lakes, rivers and areas of volcanic activity.
Having a Masters degree in Earth Science, with an emphasis on coastal processes, enables me to understand this environment. I also have a strong background in teaching, having taught for twelve years at the secondary level before designing and teaching a tertiary environmental course.
Married with six grown children, I have lived in Tauranga for the past 17 years. I have worked in many positions as an employee before running my own small business for the past 15 years. I have a keen interest in the outdoors and permaculture.
My goals as a Regional Councillor will include the promotion of sustainable development within the region to provide for community needs while preserving the natural environment. I look forward to using my expertise and experience for the benefit of the Bay of Plenty community.
