Auckland Mayor

In 1990 Parliament re−organised Local Government. Result: Huge growth in size, power, cost of bureaucracy. An estimated $23 billion leaky rotting houses, schools, apartments. Auckland Regional Authority which was our voice nationally and which built our dams, airports, parks networks etc legislated out of existence. Huge asset sales. As your Mayor I will require: cessation of bureaucratic nonsense; 90% reduction in court cases; nil rate increases; all rates cash used carefully and sensibly to progress Auckland; require parliament to remove obstructive legislation; empower communities to run their local affairs under a local mayor.
Personal: Work Commerce Education Building
Family: Shirley, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren

Albany Ward

Public Representative: Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority; Auckland Regional Authority; Rangitoto College Board; Mayor East Coast Bays 3 Terms Policies: I always remember whose money I am spending and look for ways of getting more done for less. Elected members and staff are there to serve the public efficiently and without red tape. We are there to help people get on with their lives, their businesses and their enjoyments. We can certainly run the Auckland Region with no rate increase and no additional borrowing by elected members taking control of the spending and reducing the size and cost of the management structure.

East Coast Bays Subdivision of the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board

Work life: Commerce Education Building

Family: Shirley, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren
Public Office: Mayor East Coast Bays 3 terms; Harbour Bridge Authority; Rangitoto College Board; Auckland Regional Authority etc. I will always remember whose money I am spending and look for ways of getting more done for less. I will work to rebuild the community spirit and the community pride which in time past was a huge feature of East Coast Bays. I look to getting Local Council services back in Browns Bay; the long planned head on Murrays Bay wharf. Our clubs, churches, sports groups need to build their memberships and gather in our now significant immigrant groups. Our shopping centres need style and grace so we use them as our first choice. How about a yearly Jazz festival and. . .Together we can.
