Board members are seeking re-election to continue the kind of work we’ve undertaken in the past three years for our village and the district. Yet to be achieved is a fairer rating system, one which takes account of people’s ability to pay. But this term we have succeeded in moving the costs of water and stormwater to a district-wide rate which has reduced our rates burden. We need District Councillors who promise to deliver on key policies for an effective Council next term. Identifying those policies is one responsibility of being a strong advocate for Paekakariki. The Board will continue supporting the huge range of community activities which involve so many of you.
